The Congress of Gombrowicz Translators : Gombrowicz

The Congress of Gombrowicz Translators

Congress of Gombrowicz Translators

The 50th anniversary of the writer’s death in 2019 is a special opportunity for considering presence and exceptional rank of his work today. The art of translation is a bridge between Witold Gombrowicz’s texts and his fascinated readers. The growing significance of Ferdydurke author’s thought is made possible by your creative endeavour as well.
We wish to gather in Poland a panel of translators to allow for sharing of experience in translating of Gombrowicz’s texts, to initiate new forms of international cooperation in the field, propagate the idea of literary translation and knowledge of the writer’s oeuvre, and to visit the places where he lived and worked.
